Press Release

Johan Högenberg and Jerker Hägglund are joining Brickanta, the agentic AI operating system for the built environment. Between them, they bring several decades of experience implementing AI and new technology in some of Sweden's largest construction and industrial companies.

Brickanta, backed by leading investors across tech, construction and AI including Northzone and Y Combinator, today announces that Johan Högenberg and Jerker Hägglund will join the company in September. Högenberg will lead customer success and technical implementations. Hägglund will lead go-to-market and enterprise partnerships.

Högenberg and Hägglund bring leadership experience in getting technology and AI genuinely adopted inside large and complex organisations.

Högenberg joins from Mavenoid, where he was Director of Customer Success. The AI company for product support has raised over $40 million serving global manufacturers such as ABB, Husqvarna and Alfa Laval. Before that, he spent five years at Metso in mining and construction equipment.

"In every organisation I've worked with, the hardest part of AI has been getting hundreds of people to trust it enough to make it part of their daily work. That's exactly what I've been doing for the past seven years, and construction is one of the industries where it matters most right now."

Hägglund has spent more than two decades leading commercial teams at technology companies focused on the built environment. He first joined Spacemaker, the Northzone-backed AI company for early-stage planning, and led its EMEA operations following Autodesk's acquisition. At Autodesk, whose software is the industry standard in design and construction, he ran the global commercial organisation for Autodesk Forma and then the Nordic enterprise business across construction and industry.

"I've spent 20 years implementing technology in this industry, most recently AI, and the pattern is always the same: the companies that move early pull ahead of the rest. Brickanta is the first thing I've seen in construction where the AI does the work rather than just assisting. The next step is showing that to the industry's largest players."

Jerker Hägglund, Enterprise Sales at Brickanta

The hires of Högenberg and Hägglund are the company's next step after this year's two acquihires: Praxiom in May, lawyer Anne Wijkman's agentic tool for construction law, and Alysa in August, the KTH Innovation-founded AI tool for tendering, with co-founder Nayar Grinberg.

"Johan and Jerker bring exactly the seniority this next step requires. Johan and I worked together at Mavenoid and I know how he gets AI into the daily work of large companies, which is the biggest challenge in this industry. And Jerker, with his experience from Spacemaker, has already succeeded once at what we're setting out to do here. With more than 20 years in the industry we're building for, I'm certain he'll teach me something new every day."
